Bugs, glitches, and rollbacks OH MY!

So I pick up a hatchet, later to replace it with a machine gun.  I already have a sniper so I pick a rifle as my 3rd gun.  I decide that having 3 is too much and use up the machine gun.  I drop the MG and take the rifle out of my backpack.  I can't pick up my rifle.  Trying to do so just switches it with my sniper rifle.  After switching out between the 3 guns for a bit, my sniper disappears into the ground.  

Does this happen a lot?

I later found another hatchet and this allowed me to replace it with a second gun. A lesser sniper, but it's still good.

Unfortunately man, that's nothing I can fix. It happens, simply because this game was built as a hacked up mod. It's a frankenstien of games, really. I can replace what you lost if you need me to, but I can't make it NOT happen. ARMA was never designed to have a persistant inventory like that.

A general rule of thumb to keep it from happening, you HAVE to have a weapon in your first slot to be able to pick up a second. It works usually if that first one is a hatchet, crowbar, or machete. Other than that, it's hit and miss.

I cleared out most of an AI mission, looted the bodies and found that most of the guys didn't have the right ammo for their guns. Took out the stranglers with a crowbar. Might explain why we never get shot while doing these things.

Hm. That is very odd. Thanks for the information! That is very helpful to know. I'm going to work on fixing up the code in that plugin today.

Ok, tried a mission. The AI located me by the sound of my gun and proceeded to fill me with holes  .  I think that the plugin is fixed.

I was towing a non-mission bus last night and it disappeared on server reset. Did you add new vehicles to the server?

I have attempted to add a few spawns of specific vehicles, yes. Were you towing the vehicle when the server reset?

I logged out without unattaching the bus from my car. This was well before the server reset.

There's your problem. The vehicle gets saved to the database at the time that you drop it. Its probably at the spot that you originally picked it up at.

Oh, good to know. I will continue testing once I can bum a ride from one of my friends to my last dead body. Fun times! (not sarcasm.)

Well I'm glad you're enjoying it despite all the bugs. I do the best I can, but dayz is a Frankenstein no matter what you do. I haven't had a chance to get on in the past week. How's traffic? Are you the only one left, or do people play but not post? Lol.

There were actually 7 people online last night. My friends are playing ESO, so they'll be back once they get bored.

My humanity was reset for some reason.  Also it appears that I can no longer see where I am on the map, is that intentional?

Edit: I can see myself on the map now.

I'm not sure if this happened to you guys before but when the server crashed at 10 today, I tried to join back and on the loading screen it just said waiting for host and wouldnt let me join back. Any tips?

Yeah that happened to me too (I'm Troy btw). Maybe Papa's computer crashed.

Thanks for the heads up guys. We had a big storm last night and the power went out. The machine auto restarted itself the way its supposed to, and everything booted up just fine, including the database but for some reason the world server didn't start up. I'll have to look at my auto start script and see what's up. Hopefully next time, if I get it fixed, it will be back online within five minutes of power restored.

So at 3:48 it seem like every vehicle exploded.  I lost at least an offroad full of stuff and died.  Shadow lost his truck and Yolo lost his car.  Not sure about the rest of my cars.

Also the heli at the mission sight also exploded.
